But you’re forcing me to choose between me and you.
I can’t be something I’m not,
And neither should you.
But it’s becoming hard to cherish what we’ve got
Though our love may be true.
The memories of love we have
Are all but shadows, lost to the feuds.
I try to compromise, forgive.
But you never want to.
It’s always my fault, I’m always “so mean.”
I hope you’re happy while you’re hurting me,
Chasing that dream.
We’re still young, with so much to do.
I’m afraid, it might be time,
To say farewell to me and you.
This is a bittersweet poem. Sometimes love just isn't enough. Nicely written.
